Mr Instructor Driving School offers professional K53 driver training for code 8 light motor vehicles, learner's and driver's license tuition and test preparation for students residing in Randburg and selected suburbs of Sandton and Roodepoort. Please note that we facilitate beginner and intermediate driver training for young adults between the ages of 17 to 30 years only.

Driver's Licence Prices
1. | Driving Lessons - Cars (Code B - Old Code 8 - Manual Transmission Only) | |
(a) Compulsory 2-Hour K53 Driver's Licence Orientation Lesson (payable upfront via EFT) This one-on-one 2-hour lesson is compulsory for all our new students, from complete novice drivers to students that have received formal K53 training elsewhere, with the purpose of setting a clear standard for further training. During this lesson the instructor runs through the entire K53 Driver's Licence test curriculum from a - z. The test curriculum is presented in theory as well as being practically demonstrated. This gives the student a solid framework (overview) of the K53 Driver's Licence test objectives and performance expectations. The student will receive study notes and is encouraged to ask questions and add their own notes during this lesson. The student must meet the instructor at the training yard in Randburg for this lesson. | R870 | |
(b) 1-Hour Driving Lesson (payable upfront via EFT) For students who want to use the pay-as-you-go system. This option is only available to students who have already completed the compulsory 2-hour K53 orientation lesson. | R420 | |
(c) 5 Hours Driving Lesson Package (payable upfront via EFT) A driving lesson bundle of 5 hours, at a discounted rate. The 5 hours will be divided into smaller increments to form lessons of appropriate duration, not less than 1 hour at a time. (d) 10 Hours Driving Lesson Package (payable upfront via EFT) A driving lesson bundle of 10 hours, at a discounted rate. The 10 hours will be divided into smaller increments to form lessons of appropriate duration, not less than 1 hour at a time. This option is only available to students who have already completed the compulsory 2-hour K53 orientation lesson. 10-Hour packages are valid for 3 months from date of purchase, after which it expires. | R3,900 | |
NOTE: The number of driving lessons required to properly prepare for the K53 Driver's License test will be different for every student and cannot be predetermined. The average 18 year old beginner driver requires approximately 20 to 40 hours of training. This number could be less or it could be more, depending on the individual's ability to learn a new skill, progress during training, level of focus during lessons, practicing and spending time behind the wheel between lessons, prior driving experience, age, confidence level, etc. Students who want to use their own vehicle for training must meet their instructor at the training yard in Randburg for all of their lessons. 2. | Day of Driver's License Test - Vehicle Rental (payable upfront via EFT) For more information and to see what else the applicant has to take along, e.g. documents, booking fee, etc, click here. NOTE 1: An additional amount of R228 is payable to the traffic department to issue your Driver's License if you pass. This fee is NOT included in our price. NOTE 2: Most students prefer to do a warm-up lesson prior to their driving test. In this instance, the student must meet the instructor at the training yard 1,5 hours (90 minutes) before their test time. The warm-up lesson is charged at the normal hourly rate and is NOT included in vehicle rental. Day of test services is payable upfront and only available to students that did sufficient formal training (driving lessons) with Mr Instructor Driving School. Terms and Conditions (T&C's)
1. | Cancellation Policy NO EXCEPTIONS!! N.B. Late cancellations, i.e. appointments not cancelled at least 24 hours prior to such appointments, are payable in full. For students on any of our lesson packages, such late cancellation's scheduled hour(s) shall be deducted from the lesson package and for students paying per lesson, such lesson payment will be forfeited. NOTE: We (Mr Instructor K53 Driving School) reserve the right to cancel lessons last minute under the following circumstances: (1) when we are delayed at the licence testing station, due to them running behind schedule with their tests and (2) when our vehicles experience mechanical attention, e.g. the handbrake cable broke during a lesson, etc. These circumstances are unforeseen and unfortunately do happen within the driver training industry. We can not offer proper training when a vehicle is not in good working order. We do our very best to accommodate students on the same day or next day when we have to cancel a lesson last minute. |
2. | Driving Lessons Students must hold a valid learner's license in order to start with driving lessons and the original document MUST be presented with each appointment. Please note that the maximum age for beginner and intermediate level drivers for doing driving lessons with Mr Instructor Driving School is 30 years of age, i.e. the student must have a test appointment before turning 31 years of age. All our new students start their training with a compulsory 2-Hour K53 Driver's Licence Orientation Lesson at the training yard in Randburg. See description above on the price list. After completing the orientation lesson, students will continue to meet their instructor at the training yard for their lessons, until achieving basic driving competence levels. Students are fetched from home as soon as they've mastered the basics of driving, are able to safely navigate traffic and respond to instructions, and provided they reside within our service area. Students who want to use their own vehicle for training must meet their instructor at the training yard in Randburg for all of their lessons. N.B. All driving lessons are payable upfront via EFT. It is our policy to provide maximum training availability to all our students. In order to accomplish this, driving lesson appointments are only confirmed after proof of payment has been received. Proof of payment must be sent to 084 910 0022 or info@mrinstructor.co.za within 24 hours of making an appointment, in order to reserve the lesson. If not, that slot automatically becomes available to other students after 24 hours and the lesson will have to be rescheduled. Also take note of point 1 above - Cancellation Policy. Mr Instructor Driving School does driver training for manual light motor vehicles only (cars / code B - old code 8). We do not facilitate training for code EB (cars with trailer >750kg / caravan / horsebox). |
3. | Driving Lesson Packages All driving lesson packages are non-refundable and must be completed by the student or otherwise be forfeited. Driving lesson packages must be completed within a period of 2 months for 5-hour packages and 3 months for 10-hour packages, from date of purchase, after which it will expire and be forfeited. In instances of long-term illness, attending varsity, etc. special arrangements can be made. Written approval will be applicable. Should there be a price increase during such time of absence, the package will have to be updated to the current rates and students will be liable to pay the difference. Driving lesson packages, or remainder thereof, cannot be transferred to another student. |

6. | Vehicle Rental for Test Vehicle rental is non-refundable. Even if a test should, for any reason whatsoever, not happen or in the instance where an applicant fails to show up for their test or wants to cancel their test, it will remain non-refundable. The vehicle still has to be booked out (in advance) for a couple of hours and cannot be placed back into circulation last minute. However, our standard cancellation policy (see point 1 above) for driving lessons is also applicable to refunds for vehicle rental. We reserve the right not to rent out our training vehicles for tests, should we be of the opinion that the student might put themselves and the vehicle at risk, or in the instance where payment was not received in time. Training vehicles will only be rented out to students that had sufficient formal training with Mr Instructor Driving School. N.B. Vehicle rental is currently only available for Randburg DLTC and we only accommodate tests appointments booked for 11am to 2pm. Before booking your test, first consult with us to avoid double test bookings. We have many students and we would not be able to assist you with vehicle rental on the day of your test, if another student has already booked their test for the same date and time! |
7. | Payment Policy (b) NO appointment(s), lesson(s), or service(s) shall be reserved unless proof of payment has been received, i.e. we offer services on a prepaid appointment system only. Refer to sections 2, 3 and 6 above. |
